For Ricardo B. Salinas, the creation of sustainable jobs is the only road to overcoming poverty. To create companies is to create wealth. To promote the development of small companies is the best way to encourage the economic growth of our communities. Helping to train businessmen generates real job.
In 2004, Ricardo Salinas created the Programa del Empresario Azteca (Aztec Businessmen Program) and the Asociacin del Empresario Azteca (Aztec Businessmen's Association) (ASMAZ). By taking advantage of Grupo Salinas' experiences in the world of business, its financial capacity, market strength, and extensive distribution network, we can work together to improve our community.
Based on this slogan, ASMAZ has strengthened and consolidated its support to Mexican entrepreneurs. To date, more than 158,000 businessmen have joined the Association, and they have access to free promotion of their business ventures as well as medical protection and legal consultancy services. Among ASMAZ'S main activities are the "Crusades for Business and Self-Employment"" and "Business Training Courses". Both projects seek to facilitate small businessmen's access to experts, who will offer them consultancy services, theoretical tools, and management training for running a business. Through a new concept in business training, ASMAZ produced three DVDs with an instructional approach, and which are distributed among small businessmen.
ASMAZ also has the first program broadcast on over-the-air television, "Todos a sus Marcas", which has been highly successful in its two seasons. In its third season, "Marcas tu xito", the program has focused on supporting Mexican companies and promoting business ventures. During the first two seasons the program was seen by more than 16 million viewers. The third season of the program is currently being broadcast through Proyecto 40
Thus, ASMAZ represents the only independent effort to support small businessmen and demonstrates its commitment to Mexico and to those who through business ventures and self-employment seek a solution to the problems of lack of jobs and fair wages.
